Light it up, laugh non-stop, and love life every Wednesday night at Cannabis Culture.

The Ha Shish Show starring Vandad Kardar is Toronto's newest and best weekly stand-up comedy event.

The show is located in recently opened Marc Emery's Cannabis Culture dispensary and vapor lounge at 461 Church Street (previously Pizzaiolo) in the heart of Toronto's gay village.

Beginning at 9:00 p.m. (approx. 9:30 p.m.) the premiere edition of The Ha Shish Show starring Vandad Kardar featured local stand-comics (among others) including Nick Marinella, James Alias Island, and Dave Heddy.

Considering the event is hosted at a cannabis dispensary, one of the selling points to attract customers is that 'hashish' goes on sale throughout the duration of the night. It's also a play on words as the event is literally called the 'Ha (to laugh) Shish Show.'

As all cannabis, and cannabis related products are welcomed inside the lounge, all tobacco and tobacco related products are not. All visitors who enter, act accordingly, and make a purchase of no less than $5.00 are welcome to smoke, vape, or chill inside the establishment as they please.

Cannabis is a flowering plant genus with three varieties: Sativa, Indica, and Ruderalis all originally grown in South and Central Asia. It has been used by humans for hundreds of years for both medicinal and recreational purposes.

The current Liberal Party of Canada is in support of both cannabis/marijuana legislation and regulation. The current leader of the Liberal Party Justin Trudeau has recently defended cannabis/marijuana, alongside supporting activists Marc and Jodie Emery.

Marc is a cannabis activist, businessman, and known often as the 'Prince of pot.' His wife Jodie, also an activist, and co-owner of Cannabis Culture Magazine, and retail stores. Together, they lead the fight for cannabis against our current government, and support of all aspects of cannabis regulation, legislation, and full legalization.

"You know it's all one thing at a time in this kind of environment where you're having to negotiate with what happens legally. If you're going to go and raid people who are selling medical, what's the purpose, why sell medical? Why not sell to everybody then... Because if there is nothing sacrosanct about medical then the punishment couldn't be worse than if we sold it for recreational right? I feel that that's the only proper way in legalization that it would look," said Marc Emery. "You sell to whoever comes into your business who's nineteen, and a human being. We know marijuana is safe; it's not our business to know what they are doing. Maybe they are treating their cancer, maybe they are watching their favourite show, maybe they are having sex, and it’s not our business. We are just here to sell it, and to help you."

Marc and Jodie both feel that people who use and need cannabis should not have to harass their doctors, fake a doctor’s note, or get arrested by police for possession of pot.

"We recently opened Cannabis Culture cannabis retail shop for recreational sales to adults here in Toronto at 801 Queen Street West. Now I don't own it... It's a franchise model. Someone very generous has helped us to build the vision that I have for what legalization should look like," said Jodie Emery.

Marc Emery's Cannabis Culture locations (of late) have been springing up across the country. Though most recently they've

been popping up like wildflowers, and or 'weeds,' this ensures the industry doesn't get taken over, and or monopolized by the still ever-so-demonizing, unfair federal government.
